GEODIS acquires Need It Now Delivers to significantly strengthen its offerings in the United States

NASHVILLE, Tenn., August 16, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — GEODIS, a global leader in transportation and logistics, today announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire US-based Need It Now Delivers. This acquisition will enable GEODIS to significantly increase its presence in United States in the areas of contract logistics and last mile delivery. This acquisition will also strengthen GEODIS’ position among the top ten global logistics providers.

Need It Now Delivers operates an extensive national road freight network with over 65 company locations and 300 distribution points, providing strong nationwide coverage, particularly in the east of the country. United States. In order to offer its customers complete port-to-door logistics solutions, the company specializes in distribution, last-mile delivery and multi-channel contract logistics in a wide range of high-growth verticals. Partly owned by management with private equity fund Palm Beach Capital, the New Jerseybased in New York employs approximately 2,000 people and is expected to achieve sales close to $750 million in 2022.

This acquisition will strengthen the American presence and the portfolio of e-commerce services of GEODIS, customers being able to benefit from the Group’s expertise in end-to-end supply chain expertise in the areas of freight forwarding, road transport , contract logistics and last mile delivery.

Once the transaction is finalized, the GEODIS group will employ approximately 15,000 people at more than 200 sites in the United States and more than 17,000 in the Americas. The combined organizations of GEODIS and Need It Now Delivers would have generated $3.7 billion for the whole of 2021 in the United States

The acquisition is subject to regulatory review and approvals, which are expected to be obtained by the end of 2022. The two companies will operate as independent businesses and conduct business as usual until then.
